Like the Ferdinand, it was fitted with a devastating 8.8cm gun capable of engaging the feared T-34 even at considerable range. However, it was also equipped with machine guns for close defence and numerous other improvements. It was used again on the Eastern Front and in Italy in the Anzio sector.
