The large bores hold more oil than the standard shocks, and you notice it in practice: the damping stays consistent, however rough the terrain gets.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pistons are coated with titanium nitride. This makes them scratch-resistant, extends their life and removes the slight \"sticking effect\" (stiction) that otherwise makes small bumps noticeable. The X-rings keep the oil in and the dirt out. The threaded spring collars let you adjust preload and ride height up and down in a moment, and the lower spring retainers have a locking screw, so the spring does not pop off in the middle of a jump.
