When they spin fast, the aerodynamic twisted sails create quite a strong wind. It also works the other way round: blowing air at the sails makes them spin. The gear transmission design includes a flexible joint – the type of chain drive assembled from many small links. A full chain drive made of plywood has never been used in Ugears models before.
