First of all, forget the stereotypes. Girls do not only play with dolls, and it is not only children and young people who enjoy driving around with a remote-controlled car.
At Hobbyviking’s shop (part of Danish Fjernstyret.dk) on Østerågade in Aalborg, Denmark, we see people of all ages. There are the young parents who happen to pop in because the little ones are drawn to the toys in the window. There are also the grandparents who want to spoil their grandchildren. We also see quite a few young people aged 16-25, for whom speed is the key word. They want a remote-controlled car with a high top speed, and are happy to pay more for a car that goes just a little faster. What they all have in common is that we see both boys and girls interested in a remote-controlled car.
But remote-controlled cars and drones are not reserved for the age group that has not yet settled down with a house, a dog and a non-remote-controlled Volvo.
We also see middle-aged people who want to add a new drone – and we have even seen an elderly gentleman in his 90s who felt it was about time he got his first remote-controlled helicopter! We could not agree more.
Remote-controlled cars, drones etc. are for both sexes – and for all ages. We have remote-controlled cars for the youngest who are getting their first one, we have the big, powerful high-speed cars for experienced drivers, and we have good beginner drones for older children and adults alike.
