The Solar Mars Rover is an educational building kit in which children build their own rover and see how solar energy is converted into movement. The model can run both on sunlight via the integrated solar panel and on an ordinary 1.5V AA battery, so it works in both bright light and cloudy weather. Along the way, practical skills, logical thinking and an understanding of simple mechanical principles are trained.
