Traxxas Slash 2WD Brushless VX3 3S RTR

The Slash 2WD is the short course truck everyone knows – and now Traxxas has given it the new Velineon 3S brushless system. Is it fast? YES! An 11.1 volt LiPo battery turns into approx. 80 km/h, and you do not have to touch the gearing first. Put a battery in and drive. The fan-cooled VX3 speed controller is programmed with EZ-Set – one press of a button, and that is it. The V3200 motor has a built-in fan, so it keeps its cool and gives you long run times. At Hobbyviking we are quite excited about exactly that part!

The suspension is new too. Composite GTR shocks sit on all four corners and hold over 70 % more oil than the old Ultra Shocks. X-ring seals keep the oil in and the dirt out, spring preload and ride height are adjusted on a threaded collar, and the spring retainers are secured with a screw so they stay where they should – even after that jump you had not quite planned. Add a revised suspension setup and a low centre of gravity chassis, and you get a car that glides softly over the bumps and is still sharp in the corners. Clever!

The steering has a new metal-gear servo, an improved bellcrank and a cam-style servo saver, which both make the steering more precise and protect the servo in collisions. The new body has an aerodynamic shape, so the rear end does not lift at high speed, and it is held in place with strong clipless latches – no body clips to lose in the grass. The body releases quickly when the battery needs changing, so you are back on the track straight away.
