Description

Kyosho FMS 1/18 Hummer EV FCX18 Scaler RTR – Black Edition

The officially licensed FMS 1/18 Hummer EV is built on the newly developed FCX18 chassis platform and recreates the GMC Hummer EV electric pickup in impressive detail. The body is injection-moulded with sharp lines and precise details, including the distinctive front grille design, wide mirrors, door handles, windscreen wipers and three orange warning lights on the roof. Through the clear windows you can see a detailed dashboard and cab interior, and the model comes with a figure in the cab for extra realism.

The lighting system synchronises headlights, indicators and rear lights via a built-in light control module, giving an advanced and lifelike lighting effect. The model rolls on soft, oversized all-terrain tyres mounted on realistic custom-designed wheels, making it suitable for both relaxed driving and faster runs.

The FCX18 chassis is derived from the well-known FCX24 series and is built with a metal beam frame, six metal links plus a metal steering link and linkage to ensure stability in demanding terrain. The centrally mounted driveline has a low centre of gravity and integrates a 2-speed gearbox, transfer case and a 180 brushed motor. Power is sent to the front and rear axles via propshafts, and the axles are fitted with "portal axles" that raise the ground clearance at the differential and improve off-road ability.

As standard, the chassis comes with a locked axle, but the planetary differential can be filled with high-viscosity silicone oil to simulate an LSD effect (limited-slip differential) – giving a smaller turning radius and more stable high-speed driving, although maximum climbing ability is reduced. The 2-speed gearbox is controlled via channel 3 on the transmitter and operated by a 9G servo. Low gear has a reduction of 99, giving strong torque for extreme climbing, while high gear with a reduction of 24.75 gives high speed for jumps and wheelies. A range of upgrade parts for the FCX18 chassis is also on the way, including a metal differential, metal propshaft, metal gears, brass wheel weights and trailers in three different versions.
