The Knight Bus™ from the Harry Potter series is here to rescue young wizards, witches and Muggles. This DIY mechanical wooden model bus is an exciting addition to the Ugears Harry Potter collection and a very clever piece of engineering. To create this triple-decker bus, with its unique features from the Wizarding World, the Ugears designers and engineers set themselves an ambitious goal: to create a bus that can narrow and widen itself, and change speed as it does so, just like in the film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The speedy Knight Bus™ races through the streets of Muggle London (or your living room) thanks to its powerful spring-driven motor, which is wound up using a secret key hidden on top of the bus.

The eye-catching feature of the Knight Bus™ DIY wooden model is its ability to transform by narrowing or widening with a twist of the magical manipulator knob. Turn the knob on top of the bus anticlockwise and the bus becomes narrow, to squeeze through heavy traffic. Turn the knob clockwise to widen the bus to its real size. But here is the amazing part - when the width of the bus changes, so does its speed! In its normal (uncompressed) state the bus drives astonishingly fast. Compress the bus and an internal mechanism makes it drive in slow motion.

You can leave the Knight Bus™ in its attractive natural wood finish, paint it purple (as seen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), or give the bus your very own personal design. The DIY model bus, based on the magical Harry Potter universe created by J. K. Rowling, is rated "medium" difficulty, has 268 pieces and an estimated assembly time of 6 hours. To assemble it, simply press the pieces out of the laser-cut boards and click them together. No glue or special tools are needed. Remember to sand and wax the moving parts so your Knight Bus™ runs smoothly (sandpaper and wax are included in the kit). Detailed, illustrated instructions are available in 11 languages.
