The Lancia Stratos is one of the most iconic cars in motorsport history, designed with the specific aim of dominating the rally competitions of its time. It was intended to replace the equally famous Lancia Fulvia HF, and made its debut in the early 1970s. The Lancia Stratos has a modern and highly attractive design with a low, aggressively styled body made by Bertone, and the Lancia Stratos was fitted with a 2,400 cc V6 engine, derived from the Ferrari Dino, producing 250 horsepower. The combination of the powerful six-cylinder engine and the innovative lightweight, compact chassis laid the foundation for a vehicle that would revolutionise the history of off-road competitions. The first successes came shortly after its debut in 1973 and were consolidated, thanks in part to legendary drivers, with three consecutive World Constructors' Championship titles during the 1970s.
