The McLaren MP4/2 was one of the most successful racing cars, securing the most wins in Formula 1 history. In 1985, the MP4/2B made its debut, fitted with a TAG Porsche engine boosted by two turbochargers capable of producing 850 hp, and featuring an aerodynamic design less flamboyant than previous cars, while also complying with the period's new regulations under development. The project's engineering and design achievements were confirmed by victory in both the Constructors' and Drivers' World Championships, owed in equal measure to driver Alain Prost's extraordinary talent. In 1986, the project was further strengthened by the MP4/2C version, and Alain Prost was again confirmed as World Champion. During this new season, he was joined by another great Formula 1 talent, the Finnish driver Keke Rosberg. The McLaren MP4/2 holds a special place in the hearts and minds of Formula 1 enthusiasts and fans, having won three Drivers' Championships and two Constructors' Championships.
