Description

In 1980, at the Geneva Motor Show, the German car maker from Ingolstadt presented its new two-door coupé, the Audi Quattro. The Italian name, produced throughout the 1980s, highlights its main feature: four-wheel drive. At the time, four-wheel drive on a vehicle intended to achieve high sales figures was a truly significant innovation. "Quattro" guaranteed good performance combined with excellent grip on any type of surface. The longitudinal front engine delivered noticeable performance. A competition version was also built, which made its debut in the World Rally Championship in 1981 and achieved good results. The success of "Quattro" continues to this day, so much so that the Italian name has become a true "brand" identifying the whole of Audi's latest range of four-wheel-drive cars.
