The multirole Tornado is a twin-engine combat aircraft with variable-sweep wings. This type of aircraft is the result of a joint development project carried out by British, German and Italian companies. Although it has been used for several purposes during its service life (ground attack, electronic warfare/reconnaissance, interceptor), its main role has always been to carry out low-level penetrating strike missions. The Tornado can carry and use a powerful and varied set of offensive weapons. Thanks to its two powerful afterburning turbofans, the Tornado can reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.2. The Tornado's baptism of fire took place in 1991 during the Gulf War. More specifically, the air campaign during the Gulf War, in which the Italian Tornado IDS took part, began on 17 January. The aim of the air bombing campaign was to suppress military targets and infrastructure.


The finished model measures: 34.8 cm.
