Description

The AH-1W "Super Cobra", developed by Bell Helicopter as a further development of the "Cobra" attack helicopter, entered service in the 1980s and was used in numerous theatres of operation, including military operations in the Gulf and Iraq. Fitted with two powerful General Electric turboshaft engines allowing speeds of over 280 km/h, it is characterised by a high degree of operational flexibility. The crew consists of two, the pilot and the weapons operator, seated in tandem to optimise visibility during combat. It can be equipped with TOW anti-tank missiles, AGM-114 Hellfire guided missiles and unguided rockets. The AH-1W was used primarily by the United States Marine Corps to support ground troops during amphibious assault operations.


The finished model measures: 20.4 cm.
