Super Decals Sheet – Aeronautica Militare 100th Anniversary

The Fiat CR 32 was designed in the early thirties and was powered by a V12 engine producing 600 hp. It was capable of reaching a top speed of 375 km/h. One of the most famous biplanes in aviation history, the CR 32 stood out for its extraordinary manoeuvrability. It was also strong, highly reliable and well armed for its era, with two 12.7 mm Breda-Safat machine guns mounted on top of the engine, firing through the propeller disc. The Fiat CR 32 had its baptism of fire with the Legionary Air Forces during the Spanish Civil War and soon achieved air superiority over the Soviet-built monoplane fighters, such as the Polikarpov I-16, that made up the squadrons of the Republican Air Force. Thanks to their extraordinary agility and well-trained pilots, the Italian fighters prevailed even against more modern enemy aircraft such as the Soviet-built Tupolev SB-2 bomber, which, thanks to its speed, was considered impossible to intercept.

The finished model measures 10.3 cm.
