Description

The Fiat L6/40 light tank was extensively used by the Italian Regio Esercito during the Second World War. It was designed in the late 1930s to carry out advanced reconnaissance and infantry-support tasks, and had a crew of two: the driver and the commander, who also operated the gun. When it entered service in 1941, it had good speed and could be used against light vehicles and lightly protected targets, while it was ineffective against more heavily armoured vehicles. The L6's main armament consisted of a 20 mm Breda 20/65 Mod. 1935 cannon mounted in the turret and an 8 mm Breda 38 coaxial machine gun. The L6/40 light tank was used on several fronts, including North Africa, the Balkans and the Eastern Front.


The finished model measures: 11 cm.
