Description

The need to counter the increasingly powerful Russian tanks led the German army to develop various specialised solutions: the Elefant tank destroyer was the improved version of the Tiger (P) Ferdinand, of which only a limited number of examples were produced. Like the Ferdinand, it was fitted with a devastating 8.8cm gun capable of engaging the feared T-34 even at considerable range. However, it was also equipped with machine guns for close defence and numerous other improvements. It was used again on the Eastern Front and in Italy in the Anzio sector. The last surviving examples defended Berlin during the final battle.


The finished model measures: 23.2cm.
