Aeronautica Militare – Super Decal Sheet


The introduction of the Macchi MC 202 Folgore was a major development for the fighter squadrons of the Italian Regia Aeronautica. Elegantly designed from an aerodynamic standpoint, it was fitted with the powerful German DB 601 engine, produced under licence by the Italian aviation industry.
The aircraft's engine and overall aeronautical performance gave the Regia Aeronautica a fighter capable of actively engaging Allied fighters. Its flight performance compared to the previous generation of fighters fitted with radial engines, such as the Fiat G-50 and Macchi MC.200, was in fact far superior. Manoeuvrable and fast (it was capable of reaching 600 km/h), in its early versions it was armed with two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns fitted in the nose. Only in later versions was the armament improved with further machine guns fitted in the wings.


The finished model measures 12.3cm.
