The Tiger II, unofficially known as the King Tiger, was developed in 1943 and produced by Henschel from 1944 onwards. The King Tiger combined the requirements of armour protection and firepower in an exemplary way. The frontal armour, up to 150 mm thick, could not be penetrated by any of its opponents' onboard weapons. The side armour was up to 80 mm thick. Despite several massive Allied bombing raids on the Henschel works in Kassel, a total of 492 Tiger IIs — including prototypes and 50 vehicles fitted with the Porsche turret — were delivered to the troops. However, not all of these reached front-line units. A large number of Tiger IIs were lost when they broke down due to their heavy overall weight or simply because they ran out of fuel.

The "Tiger" II, developed in 1943 and also unofficially known as the "King Tiger", was mass-produced by Henschel from 1944. Scale 1/72. 144 individual parts. 14.2 cm long.
