They are followed by other Tornado units, which can safely fly in and carry out precision bombing raids on enemy positions. With their large 2,250-litre drop tanks, RAF Tornados also have an unusually long range. The maximum speed is 1,340 km/h at 150m. The Tornado is one of NATO's most successful and versatile weapons systems and has already proven itself in many conflict situations.
