Background

The Gneisenau was one of the most famous German battleships of the Second World War. Together with her sister ship Scharnhorst, she took part in several operations, including the famous Battle of the Skagerrak. The ship, named after the Prussian general August von Gneisenau, represented the power and technical sophistication of the German Navy at the time. The 2024 re-release of the model continues the original design and has been modernised in several details to give you an extra-realistic building experience.
