We are proud to announce that our 1/24 Sports Car Series welcomes a fantastic new kit: the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992).

It's 23 years since we released item 24229, the 1/24 Porsche 911 GT3, in 2001. A 2022 addition to the legendary, ever-evolving Porsche 911 line-up, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a loud car with a strongly track-focused design.

The bonnet and wings feature vents, and the wheel arches and roof are fitted with fins. Its massive rear wing's Drag Reduction System (DRS) contributes to the seriously refined aerodynamics, and the liberal use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) ensures a lightweight body. The rear-mounted flat-six engine delivers 525 hp.

The Porsche 911 GT3 has black and red details, including red wheels and a GT3 RS decal on the side.

 It has large air intakes on the bonnet, which contribute to its aerodynamic design, and a prominent rear wing. The car's aggressive styling is faithfully rendered in 1/24 scale.
A close-up of the high-downforce rear wing, with precisely rendered swan-neck mounts. Body components to be painted in different colours are moulded as separate parts to save time on tricky masking. Take a look at the air fins on the wheel arches.
This kit recreates a left-hand-drive European-market car. Door panels and bucket seats contribute to the highly accurate finish. The diffuser and underside are stylishly rendered. Decals are included for 4 different colours on the body sides, so you can choose which colour to paint the body.

About the Model:

  • This is a 1/24 scale plastic model kit. Length: 190 mm, width: 85 mm, height: 56 mm.
  • The powerful shape with air intakes and fins is authentically reproduced in style.
  • The model can be built as left-hand drive (European specification) with recreations of the sporty “Weissach package” wheel design, carbon-fibre sections (bonnet, roof, rear wing and door mirrors), roll cage, door straps, shift paddles and headrest logos.
  • Decals depict the instrument panel, carbon-fibre components, mesh seat surfaces and door trim, as well as headrest logos.
  • Metal transfers recreate the rear-view mirror and door mirrors, as well as the tail lights.
  • Separate components recreate the brake calipers and discs, and they are movable.
  • Supplied with solid synthetic rubber tyres.
  • Masking stickers are included for painting the windows and headlight covers.

Tamiya scale models require assembly and painting to reach their full potential, which lets you customise the model to your own preferences.

To build a Tamiya kit, you'll need some basic tools:

  • Cutting tools such as hobby knives or side cutters to remove the parts cleanly from the plastic sprues (e.g. Tamiya #74053 Fine Craft Knife, #74153 Craft Knife II and #74093 Modeler's Side Cutter).
  • Glue, such as plastic cement, to assemble the parts securely (e.g. Tamiya #87003 Tamiya Cement 40ml or #87182 Tamiya Extra Thin Cement).
  • Sanding tools, such as sandpaper or files, to smooth edges and remove mould lines (e.g. Tamiya #74046 Basic File Set, #87009 Medium Set Abrasives).
  • Paint (acrylic or enamel) and brushes, or an airbrush system, to give the model realistic colours.
