Description

The boat was built at Bodan-Werft GmbH, Kressbronn, in 1989, length 15m, width 3.90m. On 30 June 1989, WSP 10 was delivered to the Wasserschutzpolizeidirektion Bayern (Bavarian Water Police), with home port in Passau on the Danube. The type designation for this type is an area patrol boat. Two MAN diesel engines of 300 hp each give the boat a speed of around 40 km/h. In normal service, the boat is crewed by 2 men, who have modern technical equipment at their disposal, such as radar, echo sounder, autopilot, 4 radio systems and explosion protection. The tasks of the boat and crew are very broad, such as surveillance, especially of hazardous cargo, as well as normal police duties. An important task is environmental duties. WSP 10 monitors a stretch reaching from the Austrian border and around 80 km upstream.
