Traxxas Slash 2WD kit with XL-5 electronics – without battery and charger

Have you ever wondered: "How does a Slash actually fit together?" Here is the answer. With this kit you build Traxxas' classic short course truck from scratch – and all the electronics are in the box: TQ 2.4 GHz radio system, Titan 550 motor and the waterproof XL-5 speed controller. The only things you need to find yourself are a battery and a charger. Once the car is finished, it does approx. 48 km/h on a 7-cell NiMH battery, and next time something needs fixing, you will know exactly where everything goes!

Is it difficult? No! The parts come sorted in labelled bags, and each section of the full-colour manual matches its own bag with step-by-step instructions. The illustrations are true to scale, there are ruler diagrams so you can check screws and rods directly on the page, and there are handy build tips all the way through. The difficulty is level 1, so it makes a great build evening for parent and child – and for experienced drivers who simply enjoy building. At Hobbyviking we think it is a really enjoyable way to get into RC.

And this is no stripped-down Slash. The Extreme Heavy-Duty suspension parts are factory-fitted, and the rear axle carriers, C-hubs and steering blocks are reinforced with more material and a stronger design – exactly the parts that take the hit when a landing goes a bit wrong. The body is mounted without clips: strong, hidden latches hold it in place and release quickly when you need to get to the chassis. Large reinforced panels replace the old clip holes, so the body does not tear through in hard crashes. Clever!
