Slayer Pro 4WD short course truck with TRX 3.3 nitro engine – RTR with TQi and TSM

Do you love the sound of a real combustion engine screaming through a tuned exhaust? Then the Slayer Pro 4X4 is your car. At its heart is Traxxas' TRX 3.3 racing engine with EZ-Start, so you start it at the push of a button – no pull cord, no hassle. The engine breathes out through the polished Resonator dual-chamber tuned pipe, breathes in through a high-flow dual-stage air filter, and the automatic 2-speed gearbox shifts up by itself as speed increases. The result? About 72 km/h straight out of the box – and about 80 km/h with the optional 17-tooth clutch bell (#5217, sold separately). We at Hobbyviking still get a little warm around the ears when it comes past in second gear!

The chassis is the extended chassis from the championship-winning Revo 3.3 – 3 mm blue-anodised 6061-T6 aluminium with a long wheelbase and wide track, so the car takes up about 10 % more space on the track than an ordinary short course truck. That gives calm handling at high speed and confidence when you lean it into a corner. The rocker-arm suspension with hard-anodised, PTFE-coated GTR shocks and titanium-nitride shafts soaks up jumps and holes without complaint. Nitro on loose gravel can be a handful, but here Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) helps you keep the nose straight – even when the rear wants to come out and play. The steering and throttle servos are waterproof and strong, the drivetrain is built to take a beating with rubber-sealed ball bearings, and the small receiver box has a built-in holder for your personal transponder, so you are ready for club racing from day one.

Is it ready to run out of the box? YES! The body is factory-painted and decorated with ProGraphix decals, the Split-Spoke SCT wheels have chrome centres and a coloured beadlock ring, and the 150 cc tank gives you long sessions between refuelling stops. The only thing you need to get yourself is fuel – everything else is in the box, including the EZ-Start Power Cell and a fast charger. That is clever!
