This unique model is Ugears' take on the classic merry-go-round, made from top-quality wood and with a highly detailed design.

Here you will find two types of carousel horses that rock up and down while the model spins. At the heart of the model is a central pole that rotates in the opposite direction to the main platform, which makes the carousel look as if it is spinning faster than it really is and creates the fascinating dynamics of the whole construction. The pole rises above the roof, which makes it look more delicate while also giving it more volume.

Add little birds soaring above the roof of the carousel together with decorative flying lanterns, and you might just catch the smell of hot dogs and candy floss!

As for the technical side, the Ugears Carousel is based on the same principle as most Ugears self-propelled models: all parts of the puzzle are assembled without glue or extra tools, and the energy for the movement comes from a rubber band motor. The carousel has a winding key under its base that tensions the rubber bands attached to the main shaft. The pendulum gears down the shaft and makes the movement of the modules and details smoother. The main shaft is connected to the central pole via the planetary gear, which makes sure it rotates in the opposite direction to the main platform. The roof is also attached to the main shaft and to crankshafts that make the horses go up and down as they spin around the central pole.

It is fun to watch the model in motion, but if you are one of those who like to see with your hands, you can also turn the carousel by hand. This lets you examine every detail in slow motion and gives you a full understanding of how the mechanism works.
