Mechanical Monowheel with great details


A really exciting model kit from Ugears!

The Monowheel is built in and inspired by the steampunk style, which means the interplay and dance of the gears is not covered up, so you can see the whole mechanism in full action. Great details, inspired by the monowheels of the past, let you build your own working monowheel that is sure to attract a few impressed looks.

The model has 2 modes:

  • In the first, with the feet locked, the wheel rolls forward for about 1.5–2 metres (5.7–7.6 ft) until the rubber-band motor has fully unwound. The model then turns gracefully around and stops.
  • In the second mode, with the feet unlocked, your Monowheel rolls forward while the rubber-band motor is running. It then turns around, the feet tuck inside, and the model keeps rolling until it runs into an obstacle. In this mode the model can cover up to 5 metres.
Like all other Ugears models, the Monowheel comes with step-by-step instructions and needs neither glue nor special tools to be built into a working monowheel.
