Description

The M4 Sherman medium tank was without doubt the most widely used armoured vehicle of the Second World War. The M4 formed the backbone of American armoured forces and was produced in numerous versions and variants. The Sherman "Wet" was developed during the tank's operational service to reduce the risk of fire, which was a common problem in early production models. It was introduced in 1944 and featured newly designed and repositioned fuel tanks to minimise the likelihood of explosions and fires. The adoption of fuel tanks submerged in a propylene glycol solution, hence the name "Wet", proved to be an effective solution. Crews appreciated the increased reliability and survivability in combat. The Sherman "Wet" was extensively used on the European front during the final stages of the Second World War.


The finished model measures 16.9cm.
