Description

The most famous Scottish regiments of the Napoleonic era were the 92nd “Gordon Highlanders” and the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, “The Black Watch”. The colours and pattern of the tartan identified the regiment. The soldiers are shown wearing the classic kilt, used by the troops since 1739, and armed with the standard British Army rifle, the famous “Brown Bess”.
