Back again in an updated edition

The half-tracked Sd. Kfz. 250 was widely used by German mechanised troops during the Second World War. Based on the technical layout of the Sd. Kfz.10 artillery tractor, it was intended to be a flexible and reliable solution for integrating infantry and armoured troop movements. Sd. Kfz. 250 was armed with either one or two 7.92 mm MG34 machine guns and, offering a high level of protection, could deliver a 4-man infantry squad to the battlefield. The vehicle's operational reliability led to the development of several variants, one of which was the 250/3 Leichte Funkpanzerwagen (Light Armoured Radio Link Vehicle), used as a radio control nerve centre between forward troops, artillery and air support. “Greifen”, used by Erwin Rommel in North Africa as a fully advanced command post in close contact with front-line troops, is a notable version.
