The Lamborghini Gallardo was one of the most iconic and commercially successful cars built by the Sant'Agata Bolognese manufacturer. Launched onto the market in 2003, it undoubtedly became a benchmark for sports car design and style of its time, created by Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign. Fitted with a 5.0-litre V10 engine delivering over 500 hp - later upgraded with increased displacement to 520 hp - the Lamborghini Gallardo offered top performance within its segment. Its performance was "best in class" in terms of top speed (over 300 km/h), acceleration and handling. More than 14,000 units were built, a significant number for this type of car, and it was offered in several versions and customisation options.
