Description

The Mercedes-Benz SK (Schwere Klasse) truck range, denoting the heavy vehicles in the line-up, was produced in the late 1980s by the famous German manufacturer. The SK series evolved directly from the earlier Mercedes NG line and incorporated cab improvements that made it better suited to long-distance travel. On-board comfort was also improved through newer technical and electronic solutions. In addition, the vehicle's design was significantly improved compared with the previous series, to match the era's aesthetic standards for the automotive industry. The vehicle was notable for its reliability, ruggedness and functional flexibility across a wide range of environments. Its longevity on the market was reflected in its sustained commercial success. The SK series was replaced in the late '90s by the early versions of the new Mercedes Actros.
