Description

During the Second World War, the German army used half-track vehicles, which provided high mobility in all environmental conditions and on all types of terrain, for a variety of purposes through specialised versions and configurations. The Sd. Kfz. 10/4 was specially designed to carry the 20 mm FlaK 30 anti-aircraft gun mounted on a reinforced platform. It was used to protect troops on the move and convoys of tanks and vehicles from low-level enemy air attack. The vehicle could carry up to eight soldiers and provided an effective solution for close-range air defence of ground forces. It was also often used to support infantry operations, using its 20 mm weapon against ground defence installations.
