Tamiya 1/48 Lockheed Martin F-35C Lightning II – plastic model kit

Following the great acclaim for the F-35A and F-35B in Tamiya's legendary 1/48 Aircraft Series and 1/72 War Bird Collection, the F-35C now arrives. Lockheed Martin's F-35 Lightning II is a 5th generation fighter developed in the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programme, with extremely low observability, network connectivity and outstanding situational awareness.

The F-35C replaces the Navy's F/A-18 and is built for CATOBAR – catapult launch and arrested landing with a tailhook. Larger wings and tailplanes than the other F-35 variants allow slower landings on aircraft carriers, and the wingtips fold up to save space on deck. The fuselage is newly tooled (except the canopy and weapons bay doors) with fine RAM structures, and the model is built in parked configuration.

• Decals for 6 marking options: 4 from the US Navy and 2 from the US Marine Corps
