Description

Super Decals sheet included.

The heavy transport aircraft Fairchild C-119 served as the basis for a US Air Force conversion into a "flying gunship". This special conversion was used particularly in Vietnam for night missions against Viet Cong supply lines and troop concentrations. The AC-119K version was especially effective against trucks thanks to its two 20 mm cannons and four 7.62 mm miniguns. A further version, the AC-119G, carried lighter armament. Two additional jet engines were fitted to allow the aircraft to take off from short runways fully loaded with ammunition. With the introduction of the more powerful AC-130H, these aircraft were gradually handed over to the South Vietnamese Air Force, which used them until the fall of the Saigon government.

The finished model measures 32.4 cm.
