Description

The General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark is a twin-engine supersonic fighter-bomber with variable-sweep wings. It was built in the late 1960s and remained in service until the late 1990s, representing a significant technological leap compared with aircraft of its time due to the solutions used. The F-111 was capable of reaching speeds of Mach 2.5 and carrying a substantial offensive payload. The aircraft had a crew of two, seated side by side in a pressurised cockpit with an escape module for emergency ejection. The F-111 was used in several conflicts, including the Vietnam War, where it was employed for night-time bombing missions and low-altitude attacks. Thanks to its sophisticated radar and terrain-following systems, it was able to fly close to the ground even in poor visibility and evade enemy defences.

The finished model measures: 31.1 cm.
