Description

The Rafale B is the two-seat version of the French delta-wing, canard-equipped fighter developed by Dassault Aviation. It is an extremely versatile aircraft capable of performing air-superiority, ground-attack, reconnaissance and electronic-warfare missions. Its two Snecma M88 afterburning engines give the aircraft significant performance, including a top speed of over Mach 1.8 and a good range. Its aerodynamic configuration also gives the aircraft outstanding manoeuvrability. The Rafale B can carry a wide range of weapons suited to all types of missions, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles as well as guided bombs. Its primary operator is the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air), but it is also operated by the air forces of other countries such as Croatia and Greece.
