Tamiya Diorama Texture Clay, Soil Effect Brown 150 g

Building dioramas is fun, and the ground is one of the things that really makes a scene realistic. As a complement to Tamiya's Diorama Texture Paint series, here is a coloured, lightweight modelling clay mixed with plastic particles that recreates uneven ground and track and tyre marks with a great finish.

The clay is water-based, so it does not smell much and your hands stay cleaner. It can be used for dioramas from 1/6 to 1/48, and the brown version can be mixed with Dark Earth.

How to use it

1. Open the bag and knead the clay.
2. Spread a thin layer of glue on a display base.
3. Apply the clay to the base in a thin layer.
4. Dab the surface with a stiff brush to create fine unevenness.
5. Press tracks and tyres into the clay to make marks.
6. Let the clay dry completely, which takes approx. two to seven days.

What you need

• A rigid display base
• Glue: Tamiya Craft Bond or wood glue
• Stiff toothbrushes

Please note: The clay does not stick like putty, so use glue, but never solvent-based glue or superglue. Pressing an assembled model into the clay may damage it.
