DORY

The compact and portable underwater drone Chasing Dory is made as much for fun as for practical use. It has a camera that records Full HD (1080p) video, light-sensitive optics, built-in LED lights and can dive to 15 metres. That makes it ideal if you do not have a diving certificate but still want to explore and record what goes on below the surface!

Dory is also ideal for sailing clubs and boat owners who need to inspect harbours, jetties and hulls without it becoming expensive.

Easy to control with your phone

Chasing Dory weighs only 1.3 kg and is easy to use. You control it with an app on your mobile phone, which shows what the drone's camera sees in real time without delay. You can even split control between two phones, so one person steers the drone while another operates the camera!

Image and control signals are sent wirelessly via WiFi between the phone and a floating signal buoy, which stays connected to Dory via a robust 15-metre cable. The buoy also stores the video files and has built-in GPS that records the drone's position and warns you if it goes out of sight.

Lockable diving depth and diving angle

Five thrusters control Dory's movements in the water. Two are used for forward/sideways movement and three for adjusting diving depth and angle. Together with a special function in the smart software, this thruster layout lets you lock the drone at an angle of +/- 45 degrees. This keeps the camera pointed down at the seabed or up at a boat's hull while it moves. Dory also has a depth lock, so it can hover steadily at a set depth.

The dedicated Chasing Dory app is available for both iOS and Android. Its features include 19 built-in filters for different image effects and the option to share your experience on social media.

The drone comes with a practical protective case, and the accessories include a tailor-made, comfortable backpack for transport and storage.
