Kyosho Fazer FZ02-L MadVan MOONEYES 4WD 1:10 Readyset

The Kyosho Fazer FZ02-L MadVan MOONEYES is a fully assembled 1:10 4WD Readyset model that combines retro American full-size van style with the iconic MOONEYES hot rod and custom culture look. MOONEYES is a global brand founded by Dean Moon in the USA, known for its distinctive "00 eyes" logo and its range of custom car parts, clothing and lifestyle products, and is now based in Japan with the MOONEYES Area-1 shop in Yokohama.

The car is built for pure driving pleasure rather than outright speed, and the body features a long list of collaboration details that make the model truly unique to own. Under the striking body sits the FZ02L-BT chassis, which offers a simple and rigid layout with reinforcing ribs, front/rear braces, gear differentials, oil shock absorbers and full ball bearings. The almost symmetrical layout improves front-to-rear balance in both suspension and drivetrain, giving smooth, predictable steering as well as greater durability and impact resistance for drivers of all levels.

The large, soft tyres with inner foams and rounded shoulders give good grip both off-road and on hard surfaces. As a Readyset, the car is factory-assembled and painted – you only need to add a drive battery, charger and four AA batteries for the transmitter before you can get out and drive.

The body uses the Ultra Scale Body design with injection-moulded parts throughout, and LED lights can be fitted at the front, rear and in the sun visor (six lights at the front and two at the rear). The main chassis is a light and stiff bathtub chassis made of glass-fibre-reinforced 66 nylon resin, and the suspension arms are also made of 66 nylon for a good balance between flexibility and stiffness. Bevel gear differentials front and rear ensure smooth cornering, and full ball bearings minimise drivetrain losses. The model comes with a new powerful 550-size 14T brushed motor (G14L) with a long can, a steel ring around the can and a built-in cooling fan for efficient torque and high speed.

The front and rear suspension are fitted with 12 mm oil shock absorbers that absorb bumps from the surface when driving off-road. Ball-joint-type steering knuckles are used on the front suspension, and the caster angle can easily be adjusted in 3 steps by moving the upper front suspension arm forwards or backwards with a spacer. The motor mount has mounting holes matched to the pinion gear, so fiddly backlash adjustment is not needed – pinions from 29T to 37T are supported. All parts are assembled with hex screws, which gives reliable tightening torque and makes maintenance possible with fewer tools.

The body has the original MOONEYES colour design in a metallic finish that highlights the shaped contours of the body. The transmitter wheel has a special horn cover inspired by "moon discs". The ESC is a BRAINZ 8 that can handle high loads and has 10 selectable output programmes, while the receiver sits in a special housing that protects it against dirt and dust. The sun visor now supports the optional LED light set (sold separately) for easy lighting upgrades, and the number plate with frame is modelled on real MOONEYES products for a genuine American touch. The chassis-integrated side exhausts add scale realism and custom car style.
