LED light kit for Traxxas X-Maxx

Does it get dark before you have finished driving? Not a problem any more! This light kit gives your X-Maxx powerful, intense white LED light at both the front and the rear, so you can keep going after the sun has gone down. The included high-voltage power amplifier draws power directly from the batteries via the Power Port on your VXL-8s ESC — not via the BEC — and transforms and regulates it, so both light bars get a stable supply. No flickering and no dimming, even when the battery voltage drops towards the end of the run. The whole system is fully waterproof and Built Traxxas Tough, so mud and puddles are no excuse.

And then there are the brake lights. Do you know the generic light kits where the brake light comes on every time you reverse? You avoid that here. Traxxas is the first to make smart brake lights that come on when you brake — both going forward and in reverse. That's clever! Installation is easy: the main plug from the power amplifier goes into the Power Port on the VXL-8s, and the individual light modules plug into the amplifier. The wires are colour-coded and tucked out of the way, and a breakaway cable makes sure nothing is damaged when you take the body off. All mounting hardware is in the box. Directly on the amplifier, you choose between three manual light modes — e.g. high beam and low beam.

Want control from your phone? Then pair the Traxxas Link app (available in the Apple App Store™ and on Google Play™) with your TQi transmitter and the Traxxas Link Wireless Module (#6511, sold separately). You can then switch the lights on and off from where you stand, control each light individually, build your own dashboard and customise light configurations and actions as you like. The system can be expanded with more light components, the firmware is updated via the app, and the kit is available both as a complete set and as individual parts.
