Description

The Toyota Land Cruiser is a benchmark in vehicle production. The famous family of off-road vehicles was developed by the Japanese company Toyota Motor Corporation in the 1950s. It is in fact the company's longest-running nameplate from the "Land of the Rising Sun" and has continually evolved in terms of design, engines and technological solutions. Among the most iconic models, the J-40 series, produced from the 1960s to the 1980s, stands out. Characterised by a classic and understated design, it was known for its ruggedness and reliability. It was available with three wheelbases: short, medium (such as the J-44, which achieved great commercial success) and long. It came with diesel or petrol engines depending on the target markets. The "Safari" version, with more extreme equipment and trim, further improved the vehicle's strength and reliability in all environmental conditions.
