In the history of seafaring and sailing, the schooner Bluenose holds an exceptional place. Built for fishing off Newfoundland, she soon proved so fast that she won every one of the great classic races along the US east coast. Built in Nova Scotia in 1921 – lost off Haiti in 1946.
