Fairmount ALPINE, the largest and most powerful tugboat ever built for Dutch interests. Fairmount Marine ordered no fewer than five new 205-ton bollard-pull long-distance towing vessels with heavy anchor-handling capability from Niigata Shipyard in Japan.

To meet the highest quality standards demanded by customers worldwide, Fairmount Marine ordered no fewer than five new long-distance tugboats with a bollard pull of 205 tons and anchor-handling capacity from the Niigata yard in Japan. Of this series, FAIRMOUNT SHERPA was delivered in May 2005 and added to the fleet, followed by her sister ship FAIRMOUNT SUMMIT in October 2005, and FAIRMOUNT ALPINE in May 2006 – the largest and most powerful tugboats ever built for Dutch interests. In July 2006, FAIRMOUNT GLACIER was delivered to Fairmount Marine. The fifth super-tug in the series, FAIRMOUNT EXPEDITION, was delivered in May 2007.
Fairmount's main activities are long-distance towing and salvage with its fleet of five tugboats with 200 tons of bollard pull, transport of heavy lifts with semi-submersible barges, and the worldwide activities of Fukada Salvage with its modern fleet of offshore support vessels and floating cranes. Fairmount operates a fleet of ultra-strong long-distance tugboats, semi-submersible barges – including the world's largest unit, the GAVEA LIFTER at 50,000 dwt – and multifunctional offshore support vessels.
