Traxxas XL-5HV waterproof speed controller (ESC) – 2-3S LiPo

The trail-tuned XL-5 HV is Traxxas' waterproof ESC for you if you drive crawlers and trail trucks – and do not want to stop just because there is a puddle on the route. It is fully waterproof, so mud, snow and a cold stream are no problem. The large, efficient heat sink keeps the temperature down, and if it still gets too hot, the thermal protection shuts it down before anything is damaged. The voltage range is wide: 6–7 cell NiMH (7.2–8.4 V) or 2–3S LiPo (7.4–11.1 V). You decide how much punch you want.

Do you have to sit hunched over a manual, beeping your way through menus? NO! Traxxas EZ-Set® handles setup with a single button. From there you choose between five driving profiles. Sport Mode for everyday fun, Race Mode without reverse for the track, and the patented Training Mode™, which halves the power forwards and backwards – but keeps full braking – so the little ones can join in until it is your turn again. Smart! Trail Mode gives you a drag brake at neutral, tuned for trails and rocks, and Crawl Mode skips neutral completely: let go of the throttle on a slope, and the 100 % hill holding brake holds the truck until you drive on – forwards or instantly in reverse.

The two-stage low-voltage detection (LVD) looks after your LiPos and can be switched on or off as needed. See it in action here:
